She was trying to come up with examples of when the Power of Attraction didn’t apply. “What about ‘Opposites Attract?’” she asked proudly.
“I’ve found that opposites attract only works with magnets,” I informed her. “Not all aphorisms are accurate. After all, even a watched pot does eventually boil. And ‘If you want a thing done well, do it yourself,’ doesn’t really work if you need brain surgery.”
“But males are attracted to females, and they are opposites,” she insisted.
“Except when they aren’t,” I informed her. “And to be honest, I think calling men and women opposites is a gross oversimplification of a complex biological system.”
She grunted, and I continued, “Besides, are you attracted to just any guy, or are you more attracted to guys that share your sense of humor, your worldview, your energy, and your image of an ideal man?”
She grunted again.
“You keep thinking about it,” I laughed. “Meanwhile, I’ll post our past episodes on Attraction.”
