Navigating a Whackadoodle World: Guidepost One, or the Power of Cause and Effect
Past and present links to our episodes on Guidepost One: The Power of Cause and Effect.
“So are we going to follow my suggestion for future posts?” she asked as soon as she sat down.
“With one slight modification,” I told her.
Her eyes narrowed. “What modification?”
“We will continue to post single episodes as we have always done, but we will also sent an email with links to past and present posts on the same Guidepost each week.”
“You mean, like one post with all the Cause and Effect episodes; then the next week a post with all the Definition and Belief episodes, so readers can pick the episode they are on?”
“I think that’s what I mean,” I nodded.
She chewed on her lip, considering. “Might work,” she conceded. “Should we say something about why Cause and Effect is guidepost one before we begin posting the links?”
“Sounds good,” I nodded. “Go ahead.”
“What me?” she objected. “Shouldn’t you be the one explaining your guideposts?”
“Nah, I don’t think so. This is third time we’ve cycled through them, so I think it’s your turn. Why is Cause and Effect the first guidepost?”
“Well,” she paused considering. “Isn’t because you can’t solve anything if you don’t know it’s cause, and this guidepost help people figure out the causes of things?”
“Excellent explanation. I think we are ready for the posts.”
Navigating a Whackadoodle World: Episode One
She looked at me thoughtfully. “I've been considering the best way to introduce Episode One of Navigating a Whackadoodle World: The Power of Cause and Effect.”
“So you've decided to go with episode one, not rule one, or lesson one?” I teased.

“So we’ve cycled back to Rule One: Cause and Effect?” she said sounding a bit dejected. “Yes, after rule fourteen, we cycle back to rule one,” I confirmed. Looking at her face, I couldn’t help but add, “So what’s the problem?”

“I know something you don’t know,” she teased as she unpacked her books. “I bet you know a lot of things that I know nothing about,” I teased back. “Aren’t you gonna ask me what I know?”
“So is that it?” she asked. “Are we done with this post?”
“Does it feel done?”
“Not quite,” she admitted. “It feels like it could use more.”
“Like what?
“Maybe we can remind people that if they know someone who could use the guideposts, they can forward this post to a friend.”
“Sounds like an idea.”
“And maybe we could add a short link to one of our favorite old posts. A post that hasn’t been seen in a while.”
“Sounds like another idea. Which old post do you suggest?”
“I always like the Two Question Personality Test. I never get tired of that one, and it’s good to remind people of the resource.”
“Let your will be done.”
