I am thinking about adding a new feature to my Substack publication:
A Navigating a Whackadoodle World subscriber chat.
A private space for us to converse and connect.
It would be a conversation space using the Substack app that I could set up exclusively for Whackadoodlians — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll could post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion.
I can even set it up so that all Whackadoodlians could start new chat threads. You could pose questions, share accomplishments, and post fun facts. It would be a protected space with no sponsored ads or trolling allowed, a space where we could get to know each other.
We could also set up weekly meeting times to get together online for a chat. Sort of like a Sunday morning coffee to prepare for the rest of the week, or office hours with the writer.
I would love to know what you all think of this idea. Is it something you would use?
I already have my first prompt ready.
I recently ran across this 10 minute video called '“George Carlin on Soft Language.” It reminded me a lot about Guidepost Two: The Power of Definition and Belief. I would love to hear your thoughts about it. (Warning: It is George Carlin, so there is mature language.)
The chat’s not ready yet because I have not decided if I want to use it, so leave any comments about the video in the link below, and please mention what you think of having a Navigating A Whackadoodle World’s Whackadoodlian Chat.
P.S. If I do start the chat, you would need to download the Substack app, now available for both iOS and Android. Chats are sent via the app, not email, so you’d need to turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a conversation as it happens.
Here’s how Substack explains it:
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Substack Chat is now available on both iOS and Android.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
